Yeeeeeeeeah Yeaaaah Yeah!!!We are part of history!!!
When I used to go to school, history was a subject that I really didn’t like, I considered it useless, I could not explain why was so important to know the past to improve the future..
Then gradually I understood how past experinces can drive us for the future, or can help us to solve ours problems or not to do the same mistakes.
Today , together with all the amazing guys of my team, we wrote an important page of history in a huge company like BMW!!
Concretely we just gave our experinces in BMW to make sure that they were making the right decisions, they took advantages asking us to explain why were correct to us, and then when all of us agreed, we started working hard.
Having my name, as the first winner of a Grand prix, on a BMW Superbike is something special that goes far beyond winning a race or a championship, I do not have the words to describe my feeling..
At the beginning I was really happy, because I won, but then gradually I metabolized the special situation. During the winter I was criticized for choosing BMW and not Aprilia, and then after the first tests , doubts of observers increased..
I used to hear often that BMW would never win anything and bla bla bla… In fact we had some difficulties if compared with the best, but it would have been strange if we hadn’t have..
But I had confidence in people because I saw that everyone beside me in the project was so enthusiast, on the track and at home in Germany.
This is the best way for a driver to feel supported and to face difficulties with determination..
For the first time thanks to BMW I felt a real official rider and I felt the full support of the house.
Then the week after the race I started to enjoy the reaction of the world BMW, I received mail from all over the world. Now we are bound to other races where we will struggle and suffer, but we will not be easily put off because I like the smell of champagne up there on the podium…
Now I would like to change topic of conversation for a while, sending a goodbye to all the guys wounded by the bomb and sending a special thought to Melissa, the girl who died for such a stupid gesture.
Sometimes we focus on problems which compared to these facts make us realize how lucky we are, complaining when the motorbike doesn’t work as we wanted or we didn’t reached our goal.. when she was just 16, and she had just started to live..
I wonder how someone can say that fortune and unfortune don’t exist..
A thought goes to that poor people whose home doesn’t exist anymore because of the earthquake of saturday night…
Man, science, and tecnology can control everything in this world, but when nature decides to scare us, can do this very well..
In Ravenna arrived a small earth tremor that was scary, fortunately it didn’t last long and I was sleeping, so I realized at the end of it everything, but then thousands of questions.. To feel impotente is so terrible.
At this point I’m wondering if nature deserves some other jokes for us on 21 December 2012…
Personally I don’t believe in this things, but for sure I will not sleep well the night before…
Starting from now let’s try to think of something more positive, more funny and optimistic…
I can’t wait to get back on my RR1000S and enjoy a bit of pure adrenaline and freedom in the middle of that great upland of Salt Lake city..
