From Australia to Malaysia

There’s an expression in Romagna, that’s not very refined, but says it all: ” I’m getting around just like the s**t down the drains” Hehehe I warned you! Really, I’m travelling in the air, but doing a load of mileage, so does s**t if you think about it, but let’s hope that I smell a little better!
Australia is one of my favourite countries, the only down side is the time of the year that we race there, freezing cold in a land surrounded by sea!!! Would any of you want to holiday in Romagna at the end of February? I think that all the many falls were mostly down to the cold and the few right bends, where the tyres just didn’t warm up. I very nearly hurt myself badly by hitting a seagull at 303 km/h! Everyone knows that you can hurt yourself on a bike, but I never thought that a seagull would come into it! Luckily it hit the fairing then my left hand forcing me to move the semi-handlebar 2mm back. If it’d hit my right hand and the brake I would undoubtedly have fallen over the front and done some real damage! I thought I’d broken two fingers because I couldn’t feel or move them anymore, but luckily it all settled down after a few minutes. Then once again Romagna words of wisdom brought a smile to my face: “A uccello (Uccello means bird in Italian but is also a slang word for penis) has never killed anyone…” Hahaha…
The trials were really hard, then my team did a fantastic job for the race itself, the bike gave me more confidence and luckily it seemed that things had changed. I had a great time, I struggled to gain grip at the rear and slid loads, I had to force myself not to accelerate where I wanted to so that I didn’t skid.
We were a great group all together at the start and really battled it out, for the rest it seemed like the umpteenth boring race that unfortunately we’ve come to expect from MotoGp. Now we’re moving from 10 degrees in Australia to 40 degrees with 90% humidity in Malaysia!
It’ll be a physical race, I want to do well and fight for seventh position in the championship! It won’t be easy, but I’ll give it my all until the chequered flag in Valencia!
I won’t be in touch before Valencia! In the meantime I want to remind you of the charity cross race on 22 November in Franciacorta. There will be loads of MotoGp and motocross riders all there to help a 17-year old boy who was left paralyzed and needs treatment. You can find out more on GARAXLUCA.COM
Ciao!!!

    Hey Marco,

The race was great, Well done for staying upright when the seagull hit you. If you want to feel the cold , you should try living in Scotland, it’s pretty cold here most of the time!!

    All the best for Valencia!!

Marco it was a fantastic race at Phillip Island. It might get a bit chilly in Australia (this beautiful country that I call home). It isn’t the best time of year to be at Phillip Island as it can change by the hour, but we do have one of the best race tracks in the world. I couldn’t imagine living where the temperature goes into the minus’. All the best for the Valencia

    Hey Marco!!!!!!!!!

You were fantastic in Australia. What a race. You manage to pass Toseland, Elias, Kallio,De Puniet and finish 7th.I feel a little bit confused when I saw you 8th in Malaysia but then you said that you had some problems with Kawa.Definately you could finish on podium and had a good battle with Rossi(you passed him three times). You can do it(finish 7th)

Good luck from your fans in Crete!!!!
